As a Software Developer on our Current Engineering team, you will work to quickly troubleshoot and solve technical customer issues by fixing and improving upon our current code base. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Software Developer - Current Engineering will quickly and accurately troubleshoot, debug, fix and resolve customer-related code defects in an independent and autonomous manner. You will collaborate with Customer Support to triage and provide unique solutions to varying customer issues. You will also contribute to new quarterly product releases and monthly Service Packs by resolving defects and improving code quality. Other requirements and responsibilities include;
* Quickly gain a broad understanding of the entire RightNow product suite, and a deep understanding of the design, implementation, code and functionality of a few specific product areas.
* Quickly analyze issues and distill into its component parts, identifying steps to resolution.
* Ensure that all assigned work is done in a timely manner and on schedule.
* Help achieve department goals for on-time product releases, overall quality, defect resolutions, etc.
* Work together with small team to help ensure projects are completed on schedule.
* Coordinate cross-functional teams and work with other Developers to collaborate and quickly resolve critical issues.
* Work closely with developers from other groups to ensure code fixes are done in appropriate fashion and will not affect other areas of the product.
* Communicate effectively with other members of the Development team, the other departments and managers across the company.
* A great ‘can do’ attitude, with a passion for quality.

Essential Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Background
* BS degree in Computer Science, MS degree preferred
* Minimum of 5 years of professional software development experience
* Strong coding skills in C/C++
* Strong SQL/database skills, particularly with MySQL
* Strong Linux skills
* Strong debugging skills
* Strong .NET, C#, SOAP skills
* Industry experience with large scale enterprise software products (preferably SaaS/On-Demand)
* Demonstrated past experience in code integration or troubleshooting production issues
* Demonstrated ability to quickly identify and fix defects in code authored by others.
* Passion for problem solving and troubleshooting code
* Desire and ability to mentor other team members
* Self motivated to drive issues to completion
* Strong interpersonal, communication, project management and organizational skills
* A highly organized individual who works well under pressure to complete tasks to meet tight deadlines via strong time/task management skills.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Background
* MS degree in Computer Science
* Industry experience with CRM software applications.
* Industry experience with reporting/analytics software applications.
* Strong Purify, Insure, JetBrains skills.
* Strong PHP, JavaScript, HTML, AJAX skills.
* Demonstrated experience developing automated test frameworks.
