Position Description:

* Perform monthly and quarterly GAAP, statutory and tax accounting close processes related to impaired investments and structured assets (FAS 91, FSP 115, SSAP 43 and EITF 99-20) including balancing and reconciliation.

* Prepare monthly and quarterly GAAP (10K and 10Q) and statutory reporting for impaired investments and structured assets.

* On a monthly and quarterly basis, analyze financial results and investigate variances.

* Special projects such as procedures and control updates, and systems implementation testing.

* Accounting and/or finance background.
* 5-7 years of experience including investments and insurance.
* CPA is a plus.
* Strong analytical skills with an orientation for detail.
* Ability to identify and resolve problems/issues.
* Flexible and able to adapt to a changing work environment and new situations.
* Able to work independently.
* Project management experience.
* Strong communication skills and an ability to interact with various levels within the organization.
* Strong excel and access skills, general ledger and investment system exposure.
